Project Out Reach

We have advocated for the use reusable products with NGOs and government through workshops and training session and have reached out directly to more than 80,000 menstruators, and over 6000 boys and men through our trainings and awareness campaigns in the past 6 years. We have worked closely with a number of organisations over the years to advocate for the use of cloth pads in states of Rajasthan and Jharkhand. (Tata Trust, Bombay Municipal Corporation, Government of Haryana (Hissar/Sirsa), Bihar Government (Gaya / Bhagalpur), North Eastern states in India. CSR initiatives were with Spark Minda Group, Hinduja Solutions Foundation, Google, National Thermal Power Corporation and others.

Recent High Lights

Year 2021-2022

  • The Accor Take Off! Challenge is a worldwide student competition organized by Accor Hospitality Group, France. The student team (three young chefs to be, in their 20s), Subhash Ullal, Sadhika Venkatesh and Nathan Dsouza, studying at the Welcome group Graduate School of Hotel Administration – Manipal – won an award for their proposal. They were mentored by the Uger team and subsequently the students and Lakshmi Murthy traveled to Paris to receive the prize.
  • Menstrual Health sessions were conducted by Jatan Sansthan in 12 jails in Haryana through support from Spark Minda CSR Project, in coordination with India Vision Foundation. The sessions were with 612 female inmates. One works was also conducted at the Udaipur Central Jail.
  • Women and Child Department – Madhya Pradesh Government and Water Aid conducted a two hour MHM training for front line workers. Jatan Sansthan’s Uger Unit was given a 25 minute slot to demonstrate how to make cloth pads from fabric available at home. 78,753 front line health workers participated in this.

2018 – 2019

Ministry of DONER / IIT Madras under STINER Project invited Jatan Sansthan to set up 4 cloth pad production units in the states of Meghalaya, Assam, Arunachal Pradesh and Manipur. The success story is – Bordumsa Mahila Mandal’s work, an NGO at Bordumsa, Changlang district, Arunachal Pradesh. Their pads are purchased both within the district and through the government school channel, through endorsement and support from the local administration.
